TCS (Tata Consultancy Services), the most valuable IT company in India, will recruit 55,000 staff in 2014-15 as Asia’s largest IT firm expects stable demand for its services in the next 12 months. The company has already given 25,000 offers to fresh technical graduates. Most recruits would be laterals (experienced personnel). The co. would change the hiring figures depending on the demand environment. For 2013-14, the it had projected a hiring of 45000, but had upped the target by 5,000 during the year.
TCS is now the first Indian IT co. with more than 3 lakh employees on its payrolls. At present, it employs 300,464 staffers, with the average age being 29 years. Women made up 32% of the workforce, spread over118 nationalities.
The overall attrition stands at 11%. TCS is expected to offer average wage hike of 10 % for its employees in India.
